چکیده
Objective: To assess the occurrence of cardiometabolic risk (RCmet) in children aged 5 to 9 years old born premature compared those at term. Methodology: Cross-sectional study which enrolled urban municipal schools were evaluated. They divided into two groups: low income and middle income, considering that economic status is one social determinants health. The total sample was 132 children, classified according their gestational age birth a group schoolchildren term (GST) prematurely (GSP), assessed for weight, height, waist circumference (WC), blood pressure (BP), capillary glucose (CBG), cholesterol (TC) triglycerides (TG). RCmet also analyzed both groups WC >90th percentile >50th percentile, associated with least following criteria: TC ≥70 mg/dL; TG ≥85 CBG ≥126 Systolic/diastolic BP ≥P90 mmHg, height ratio (WCHR). Results: Among GST >P90, 10% presented RCmet, while, >P50, 23.44% this risk. In GSP, there no participants above P90; 22.22% had RCmet. Comparing groups, statistically significant difference. It found 90.15% evaluations, an equivalent classification between HR methods percentile. Conclusions: evidenced however, influence on

Sleep patterns and cardiometabolic risk in schoolchildren from Cuenca, Spain
Sleep seems to have a significant influence on the metabolic syndrome (MetS). However, results in this association are still inconsistent in children. The aim of this study was to examine the influence of sleep characteristics in the MetS (index and factors) in Spanish children. Cross-sectional study including a sample of 210 children aged 8-to-11-years belonging to 20 schools from the province...
متن کاملStomatognathic evaluation at five years of age in children born premature and at term
BACKGROUND The high frequency of alterations of the stomatognathic system associated with premature birth may suggest that prematurity is an important risk factor in the development of this system. Prematurity has an incidence between 6-11% of births and is associated with factors such as genetic, maternal conditions (obstetric problems, nutritional status, infections) and antenatal care. In ad...
متن کاملCardiometabolic Risk Factors in Young Adults Who Were Born Preterm
Adults who were born preterm with a very low birth weight have higher blood pressure and impaired glucose regulation later in life compared with those born at term. We investigated cardiometabolic risk factors in young adults who were born at any degree of prematurity in the Preterm Birth and Early Life Programming of Adult Health and Disease (ESTER) Study, a population-based cohort study of in...
متن کاملElectroencephalography during general anaesthesia differs between term-born and premature-born children
OBJECTIVES Premature birth is associated with a wide range of complications in later life, including structural and functional neurological abnormalities and altered pain sensitivity. We investigated whether during anaesthesia premature-born children display different patterns of background EEG activity and exhibit increased responses to nociceptive stimuli. METHODS We examined background EEG...
متن کاملCardiometabolic Health in Adults Born Premature With Extremely Low Birth Weight.
BACKGROUND Young adults born with extreme prematurity have increased blood pressure and insulin resistance. This study documents their metabolic health as they enter their fourth decade of life. The study objective was to compare body composition, glycemia, lipid levels, and blood pressure in adults born with extremely low birth weight (ELBW) versus age- and sex- matched normal birth weight (NB...
